The Code of Sirrism

And thus, the fallen angel Sir Endymion Sonata, did travel the worlds spreading his message amongst demons, humans, and angels alike.  With all his followers he conveyed a code of living which would help lead to a more peaceful coexistence with those around them.  These commandments were as follows:


1:  Seek truth with your own senses, and with as much patience, calmness, and open mindedness as possible.  Gullibility is only another way to be led astray.  It is only by seeking wisdom that the evils of ignorance can be erased.

2:  Violence, is only to be used as a defense when all other methods fail.  And should you find yourself in such a situation, then you should conduct yourself in the most honorable way possible.  And should you find yourselves in the position where one or more worlds are at stake, then it is forgivable to fight to save it.  There shall be no penalty in serving a truly Just Cause.

3:  Respect all life.  There is no individual more superior than any other, and should they be family, friend, foe, or stranger, you should show them the same courtesy. Treat others the way you would prefer to be treated, even if you will not be treated the same in return.  The fact that you place yourself in such an honorable position should be enough of a reward.

4:  Be true to your feelings.  Emotions are not to be feared or ashamed of, and there is no shame to be had in sharing them with your peers.  Should one share there feelings with you, you are to respectfully and listen, and respond to them in as sincere a fashion as possible.

5:  Defend that which is dear to you.

6:  Honor all commitments.

7:  Repay all debts.

8:  Be confident in your decisions.

9:  Trust in your comrades, and always be ready to forgive their mistakes.  In addition, give no reason for others to mistrust you.  

10:  Never underestimate the power of your own words.

11:  Experience humility to erase the evils of pride.

12:  Experience charity to erase the evils of greed, and gluttony.

13:  Experience loyalty to erase the evils of lust and treachery.

14:  Experience resolve to erase the evils of heresy.

15:  Experience love to erase the evils of violence and anger.

16:  So long as you yourself know that you are of sound mind and body, then allow not the opinions of others soil your perception.  Let not the toxic slander of your naysayers hinder your spirit.


And with these commandments given forth, our patron did smile as he said:

"And in the end, love shall conquer all that which is evil.  For even demons can feel love.  And that is why I have chosen to keep this form, and why I have chosen the demon overlord as a lover.  The disposition of the body means not the disposition of the soul, no matter what that body finds itself to be.  All are capable of the same goods and evils, as all are capable of breathing the same air.  It is my hopes that you all will come to grips with this information, and from my teachings bring forth a new era of peace and understanding to your respective realms.  I am not god, but I believe myself to be working in His favor.  And in truth, I am only a lowly wanderer whose black robed visage serves as my greatest form of martyrdom.  Should you choose to believe in this "Church of Sirrism" then all I can give to you are my beliefs, and a prayer that you will grow pure from them."
