...It was a good couple months after we had met.  We  had decided to take the day off, and sat by a peaceful creek in the middle of the forest.  You sat as beautiful as ever upon a blanket, hidden by the shade of an umbrella.  Folded neatly in your lap was the black cloaks that we should have been wearing.  You sat there watching as I drove my fists repeatedly into a tree not ten yards away from you.  A worried frown growing on your face, you spoke.
“Karakuri!  You've been training too hard!  You need to relax... you are going to kill yourself!”  My hands glowed red as I sliced the surrounding trees in half.  The sweat dripping from my face, I turned towards you.
Reflected in my eyes was a look of shame, and it became apparent when I said, “I failed the leader... It's my fault that he is no longer with us...  We had come so far... and I failed him... If only I had sacrificed myself... then maybe his blood wouldn't have been shed.”
The moment played back  in my mind spontaneously. We had finally conquered the village from which we had met... their leader actually joining our ranks as one of our own.  You and I were now inseparable partners.  We served our leader as his courier and advisor.  We were his right hand.  His left hand man was Tagura, the self proclaimed Tiger King.  Now... we had gathered within one of our bases to discuss our post invasion plans.  It was like any other meeting in the past, and it went by quickly.  Eventually... as the leader retired to his chambers... I noticed that in Tagura's hands was a dagger; poison dripping from it's tip.
I immediately stood up and said, “Surely you are not attempting what I think you are!  This is treason!”
“... I'm afraid you're allowing your admiration for that foolish man to cloud your vision Karakuri.  Have you not noticed the unrest within our organization... Since our victory, he hasn't given any orders.  The members are getting restless... they want pay... but how will we pay them?  We have lived in the delusions that he has made for us, and we have played as fools.” he replied.
My gaze could pierce armor as I retorted, “Tagura!  Our mission is peace! The village we conquered had been provoking war in far off regions... If we stop now... things will return to chaos!”
He smiled as he said, “I'm sorry... but it's what needs to be done... on the path that we are travelling... nothing will ever be accomplished”.  As he said this, he nodded towards you.  With much remorse, you seized control of my body and made me move away from the passageway.  Without another word, Tagura left to commit to the deed.
You didn't release me until it was sure that the assassination was carried out.  I rushed as fast as I could to the master's chambers... but to no avail.  The leader lay dying on the floor,  feeling the effects of poison.  I went up to the dying hero and stared into his rinnegan eyes... and with the last of his strength he managed to say...
“... Kara.... kuri.... as I lay here dying.... I now notice.... I was wrong.... wrong to think that I could ever accomplish anything... The world.... the world is encompassed by night... yet if this is so... where... where is the dawn?... It was always my goal... to bring the dawn to this dark world of ours...  but what have I accomplished?  We are demons... hated by all... we are not liberators... Yet... as I stare back at you... I feel somewhat reassured.  Within you lies great potential... You can bring the new dawn to this world... You are a gift... a gift from the gods...  I... I trust you...” and as he said so... he reached up and closed my eyes with his hands.  “I..... trust...........you................”  As he uttered these last words, his eyes closed for the last time, and mine opened for the first.  For my eyes now shone with new clarity.  He had given me his rinnegan; his entire legacy was now mine.

“Karakuri! Please stop training so hard!  Please!” you said... tears starting to form in your eyes.  We were now back at the creek... as physical fatigue returned to my body.
“My dear angel... I now realize that I cannot control everything that happens in this world...  The world is covered in darkness... but if nobody challenges it... then It will always be night.  If I am a gift to the world... then I wish to give back... My gift is a new dawn... “
“I would follow you to the ends of the earth....” you said... embracing me...
“and when the day comes that we can lay down our weapons in a land of peace, I would have nobody else but you stand with me.”

And thus... My gift to the world... The Neo Akatsuki was formed.
The sequel to "A Gift of Moonlit Night"

XD... karakuri is actually a really kickass name... I just thought it up specifically for this story... I'm known as sir by everyone else... but sir doesn't exactly sound right here....

where the last one took a romantic tone... this one takes a more serious tone... also... this one was created simply because I wanted to... not as a gift... so it probably isn't as good as the last one... ^^'....

Once again... I take inspiration from real events in my life... I just jazz them up so that they appeal to the audience... I can say that there are only four people (myself included)who are familiar with this story... and they will probably notice the changes I have made..

If you haven't noticed... yeah... this is placed within a naruto style universe... I'm somewhat of a fan of it, and I wanted to do something to appease my fandom... that and the events detailed wouldn't make much sense otherwise...

Oh... if you are one of the (other three) people who actually witnessed the event firsthand... realize that I interpreted the metaphorical meanings of what happened and turned them into literal occurences... so that the story would seem interesting...

1:The leader didn't actually die... he just quit... and it got passed down to me... but he never was the same after this incident...
2: The assassination attempt was a flop... it was an epic fail... I was actually able to stop the physical assasination... but the mental damage was great for the leader.
3: Fin actually was in on the assassination... but she was only a conspirator... in this... I make it a bit more blatant... she never did like the leader...
4: I created the Neo Akatsuki the same day that the whole scene unfolded... though the thought process before I did it made it seem like it couple of weeks...

...I remember that day, I was fighting you that day...*shivers* Unholy memories I had forgotten have came back...

._. I still hate Zor, and still hate the whole organization....whether you took it over or not...

btw; Love the story itself- just not the memories it brings...
